Crossing Over Spirits

Before I begin, There is something that I want to explain before diving into this blog. Yes, this is a blog about crossing earthbound spirits over, but this is something that is very serious and is not something to take lightly. Crossing a spirit over is something that should be done by a Medium or a sensitive, someone who can communicate properly with the spirits that need to be crossed over. This is technically a ritual. Any ritual performed incorrectly can have serious consequences for any that are involved.

There are a plethora of reasons that spirits linger among the living, such as unfinished business, tragic circumstances that leave a person unable to move on and sometimes, the spirit may not realize that they have died. But sometimes, for whatever reason,  they can be stuck here being unable to cross over. In these instances, they require the help of the living and this is usually done by a Medium. It is possible, however, for anyone who falls into the psychic spectrum that is sensitive to these energies or spirits. It can be a little challenging, considering you are not able to fully communicate with the spirit that needs help to move on, but it can be done. Crossing over a spirit, depending on the circumstances surrounding who the person is, it is better to help them cross over instead of just performing a cleansing ritual to clear your home of spiritual energies. When performing cleansing rituals, you are essentially evicting the spirit from the location, and ultimately, this is a displacement. Think about it this way, something happens and you are stuck in a particular location and cannot go somewhere else, then someone comes along and says "You can no longer be here, and you need to leave."  This is essentially what you are doing when you perform a cleansing ritual in a location that is haunted. You don't deserve that as a living person, so why should they? Even though they are no longer among the living, they are still people too. With typical cleansings, like burning white sage, the main concern is just to remove those energies within your home. As I just mentioned, you are displacing these energies, they may linger around the property until those effects of the cleansing wear off in order to re-enter the location, but what if this is not always the case? It is the same concept as asking a living person to leave a location, they may become upset they have to leave, and they may try to linger, but for the most part, they leave and move to another location. So if you can help them, why not just try to help them cross over? With this posting, I hope that I can provide you with the information that will allow you to help these spirits.

Most of the time when a person passes on from the world of the living, they are usually able to cross over immediately, and there are generally no issues with this. But there are times when there is something that is preventing them from being able to cross over, leaving them Earthbound. Generally, these reasons vary by the person and can include Soul Contracts that were not completed, confusion at the time of their death, or they could have died under tragic circumstances, that upon death, left them in a state where they could not cross over, which are some of the many reasons. Now, while helping these spirits cross over into the light, allowing them to continue their spiritual evolution is the best way to handle these spirits, but some spirits simply wish to remain or they just are not ready. Now, a person's belief in life can greatly affect the process of crossing over as well, such as a person in life believing that there is nothing once we die, to find out there is, and this may frighten them. They often just need to know that they won’t be judged and ‘sent to hell’ when they cross over and that they can help and look out for their loved ones much more effectively once they make their transition into the light.

When working with spirits in any situation, it is always important to set boundaries and set your intentions. Do not go into these situations blindly, with a plan to just make it up as you go. This is not a situation where you can just figure it out as you go, not entirely at least. Have a plan there are times when things do not go exactly according to plan, so it is good to have a plan just in case this happens. Now if you have never helped a spirit cross over, sometimes communication is all it takes, and other times, it takes a little convincing.

Now, to start the process of helping a spirit cross over, you want to call upon your guides, your ancestors, or angels. Archangels Azrael, Michael, Raphael, Uriel, and Metatron are all Angels that you can invoke to help you in the crossing of a spirit.

First things first, set your intention. This can be something like,

"I wish to only communicate with those of the highest vibrational light, for my greatest and highest good."

And then you will invoke your will invoke whatever spirits, guides, or angels that you wish to work with. Which can be something like,

"I call upon my ancestors and my guides. I call upon Archangel Azrael, to surround me in your love, protection, and your white light. I ask that you aid me with the crossing over of this spirit, so they can find peace allowing them to continue their spiritual journey. I ask that you bring forward this spirit's soul family to call them home." 

At this point, you want to begin your visualizations. 

You will visualize yourself being surrounded by golden, white light of love, peace and protection. And once you have done this, you will ask your guides, angels, and spirits to bring forth the spirit in need of assistance. You can say something like,

"Those that have come to my aid, I ask you to show me the spirit in need of assistance, and bring forth their soul family to receive them into the light."

Once you see or feel the presence of the spirit in need, speak with compassion and understanding, and be respectful. Remember that this spirit may be afraid. They may express their feelings of fear of crossing over or the sadness they are feeling about why their loved ones can no longer see them. You may or may not hear them, but instead, you may only pick up their feelings. Validate what they are feeling, Remind them that their family is waiting for them and that it is time for them to let go and enter the light.  If it is a spirit that you know lived hundreds of years ago, let them know that it is no longer 1924 and that it is now 2024. Sometimes knowing that 100 years have passed and that their family is enough to get them to move on. Let the spirit know that it is safe to cross over that nothing is going to hurt them and that once they enter the light, they will reunite with their family. Call them forward into the light, you can even walk them into the light as well. Before you lead the spirit into the light, call forward either the angel or the family of the spirit you are crossing over to take their hand and guide them along the path. At this point, you will manifest their pathway to cross over through visualization. This is the light you are leading them to, and handing them off to the angel or spirit that has come to help them cross over.

This dialog could look something like this;

I know you may be afraid, but there is nothing to fear by crossing over. I am here to help you with the transition and your family is here and waiting to receive you in love. Peace and happiness are waiting for you on the other side and it is okay to let go of this life. You can also hold out your hand and let them know to take your hand and you will walk with them into the light. Once the spirit is successfully crossed over, you will feel the energy shift, usually anyone in the space will feel the energy shift as well. 

Please note, that the information here is not to provide you with a dialog on what to say when crossing a spirit over. Ultimately, whatever you say is up to you. The information here is to provide you with the proper technique to help a spirit cross over.
